The essentials
Tokyo is huge, but the city becomes manageable when you plan by neighborhood. Keep one or two anchors per day and leave room for food streets, stations, and small discoveries.
Getting Here
Most international travelers land at Haneda or Narita. Haneda is closer to central Tokyo, while Narita has wider international flight options. Airport trains are usually easier than taxis.
Top attractions
Start with Shibuya Crossing, Asakusa and Senso-ji, Meiji Shrine, Harajuku, Shinjuku, Ginza, and a skyline view from Shibuya Sky or Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building.
